A life without hits (Shape of My Heart) and concerts of the boygroup - for real fans incredible! For band member Howie Dorough also: Before the new Tour will start (16.11. in Oberhausen) we've talked with the 35 years old Backstreet Boy about the past and new aims.

Hello Howie! First of all we want to congratulate you: You've become a father. Did that change your life?

Howie (laughs) Most of all my sleep rhythm. And: Now I have also the feeling that there are more things for it's worth to live. A child completes your life. I can't wait until I can show my son the world.


In autumn there will be the first opportunity. You will go on Tour. And before the Tour will start you publish a new album - what can we expect?

Howie We are happy to try out new things, we've continued our boundaries. Of course, the album will be danceable and will be Pop but it includes RnB sounds.

What for a show can we expect on your Tour? Will it be more diaphoretic?

Howie Sure. It seems like we will do more dancing on stage like the Fans are used to be.

Really? You don't become younger...

Howie That's right. We aren't 20 anymore but young enough for a big show. Wait and see if that also works when we're 50.

Did your Fan community change since the beginning?

Howie Just a little bit. On concerts there are boys and girls, young and old. And some fanatics are parents on their own, take their kids with them to concerts. I like it very much.

After a long break in 2005 you've celebrated a comeback. Do you appreciate the success more than before?

Howie Yes. Now we're really thankful that we can record songs and are able to go on tour. In the 90's the success was going to be normal to us. That's why we've needed the break. We were nearly done.

Kevin left the Band - do you miss him?

Howie Definately! He was an important Part of the Band and for me he will ever be a Backstreet Boy. But he wanted to change. We respect his decision. Meanwhile he raised a family and did some acting.

You've also started acting - Do you feel unchallenged with BSB?

Howie No. Also with the Backstreet Boys there are new challenges everyday. But besides we all do also what we want to do.

Your image is more the nice good looking guy. Would you also be more a rebell like AJ?

Howie (laughs) No way! I was never a flaring guy. I'm happy with myself.

And when will be the day when you're done with the Backstreet Boys?

Howie Never. I can't imagine that. Our fans still want to hear us and within the group we fit. So why? The times as a backstreet Boy are the happiest of my life.
